As part of the action used to cast this spell, you must make a melee weapon attack. On a hit, the target suffers the attack's normal effects.

Once a target is struck, the magic of the spell explodes in a 10-ft radius around the caster. All creatures hostile to the caster take 2d6 fire damage + the caster's spell casting modifier. Each target is allowed a DEX save for half damage against the caster's DC.

Once the spell is cast, it will remain in the weapon until a successful hit occurs, or 10 minutes elapse, whichever comes first.
