As part of the action used to cast this spell, you must make a melee weapon attack. On a hit, the target suffers the attack's normal effects.

Once a target is struck with this spell, they must make a WIS save. On a failed save, they are prevented from using their reaction to attack the caster.

At Higher Levels. The caster may designate one additional friend within spell range to extend this protection to for each spell level above 1st.
